Legal aid helps provide financial assistance for legal services for those who can’t afford to pay for private legal representation themselves.
This means that if you can’t afford to engage the services of a lawyer, Legal Aid Queensland may pay for your legal representation by us if you meet their criteria. This financial assistance is available for criminal law, family law, property law, domestic violence, criminal compensation, and many civil law matters.
